Alison was born in 1982 in Los Angeles. Her full name is Bree Shermerhorn for a Jewish mother, but at the beginning of her career, she left only her father's last name, although she grew up without him.
Mom Alison worked in the organization in which there was a theater. When she brought her daughter to one of the performances, she also wanted to perform on stage. Soon she was accepted into the team, and she played the role of Toto’s dog in the play “The Wizard of Oz”. All her subsequent years were filled not only with school, but also with classes in a theater studio.
After leaving school, Alison entered the California Institute of the Arts, and as part of an exchange of experience, she studied for one semester at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. After graduation, she received her bachelor of fine arts in theater.
Bree earned her first livelihood by entertaining children on holidays.
In the first years after graduation, she played in the theater, and once she managed to play the role of Ophelia in a play by William Shakespeare. The actress received the prestigious Indy Award for this role.
