In 1991, Edward played in the movie "Paris Awakens." After 4 years, he was invited to the black-and-white film directed by Mathieu Kassovitz “Hate”. The picture received 3 prestigious Cesar awards, including for the best French film of the year. The film also won the Cannes Film Festival for its best directorial work. The film "Hate" is on the list of 250 best films of all time.
The plot tells about one day in the life of adolescents from a dysfunctional quarter. After the riots, Arab teenagers find a gun. The action takes place in Paris in the mid-1990s. The director took scenes from his own life as the basis of the plot. One of his friends was killed in a police station.
