John Dillinger was a famous American gangster. The gang he ran was accused of participating in several major criminal acts, including 24 bank robberies. He established himself as one of the most famous criminals in the United States along with other villains such as Bonnie and Clyde, Baby Nelson and Pritti Boy Floyd.

Childhood and youth
John Herbert Dillinger was born June 22, 1903 in Indianapolis, Indiana, in the family of John Wilson Dillinger and Mary Ellen Lancaster. His father was a grocer and had a reputation as a very stern person.
Mother died when John was only four years old. His older sister, who soon married, took care of him until their father got married.
John dropped out of school as a teenager and began working on small assignments. He was a wayward teenager and began to break the law. Dillinger was later enrolled in the United States Navy, but was eventually fired due to his misconduct.
