“Sledgehammer” - such a nickname was awarded to Russian boxer of the first heavy weight Dmitry Kudryashov. And he more than justifies his ring nickname. On his account over 25 fights, 23 of which he finished by knockout. He literally “drives” an opponent into the flooring of the ring.
Biography: childhood and youth
Dmitry Alexandrovich Kudryashov was born on October 26, 1985 in Volgodonsk, near Rostov-on-Don. I went to school number 22 in first grade. Then I became interested in sports. Parents brought Dmitry to the karate section when he was eight years old. Five years later, he was noticed by a rather well-known boxing trainer in Volgodonsk Nikolai Timofeev. Even then, he brought up more than one generation of professional boxers.
So Kudryashov became engaged in the sports club "Olympus-2". An experienced coach did not lose when he bet on him. Dmitry quickly progressed and often won tournaments of city and regional scale. A little later he engaged in hand-to-hand combat.
Soon, Dmitry moved to Michurinsk, which is famous for a strong boxing school. There he made acquaintance with Evgeny Melekhov. At that time, he trained another young talent - Arthur Osipov. Subsequently, Melekhov became the head coach of Dmitry.
Since 2004, Kudryashov has performed in Rostov-on-Don, defending the colors of the Labor Reserves club. Four years later, he was drafted into the army. Dmitry paid his debt to his homeland in the unit OBRON VV "Cobra, which is based in the city of Kalach-on-Don.
After the army, he continued training in the ring. In 2011, he won the All-Russian tournament "Spartak Cup". For this he received the title of master of sports. On his account about 150 fights of amateur level. Dmitry lost only in 12 fights. In the same year, he decided to test himself in a professional ring.
Career
The first fight in the status of a professional boxer Kudryashov held July 30, 2011. Dmitry appeared in the ring to the song "Sledgehammer" by rapper Dima Stereo. The fight took place in the village of Kushchevskaya. His opponent, the Ukrainian Alexander Okhrey, he famously put on the shoulder blades in the third round. So began the career of Kudryashov, whom experts hastened to christen the hope of Russian boxing.
This was followed by a series of victories. And all with a knockout. In autumn 2012, Dmitry won the belt of the champion of the CIS and Slavic states according to the WBC. A year later, he knocked out the famous Sean Cox - a boxer from Barbados. In October 2013 he became the world champion according to GBU.
Dmitry did not know the bitterness of defeat until November 2015. Then he lost the battle to the Nigerian Olanrevaj Durodol. Kudryashov suffered a second defeat in September 2017. Then he lost to the Cuban Junior Dorticos.
In parallel with his boxing career, Dmitry received higher education. After graduating from the Don State Technical University (DSTU), he became an engineer. After high school he worked as a "security guard" at the Rostov NPP.
