Denis Simachev is a talented Russian designer who created his own recognizable style. The collections actively use Russian folk motifs, Gzhel and Khokhloma prints, Soviet symbols, and shocking slogans. Education and career
The biography of the future designer began in 1974. Denis was born in a military family, but from childhood he was fond of fashion, beautiful things, designing clothes. Parents did not interfere with the plans of the son.
Since 1988, Simachev received his education in the field of fashion. He graduated from the College of Art and Graphic Design in Moscow, the Spanish Academy of Pivot Point, and the Moscow State Textile Academy. Denis's works were repeatedly awarded with diplomas and prizes.
Since 2001, the designer started his own business, opening a company under his own name. Things went well, after 5 years the first Denis Simachev boutique opened in the capital. The designer works with other companies: in 2007, he created a collection of snowboards for a sports company. The designer collaborates with popular television programs, believing that a large screen is the best option for advertising clothing.
Simachev-style: main features
Simachev's clothing style is very recognizable. The designer relied on traditional Russian motifs, generously seasoned with kitsch, Soviet and post-Soviet symbols. His creative credo is the creation of catchy and even shocking things. The designer’s collections belong to the current street fashion, they look great on the catwalks and quite fit into the everyday youth style.
Denis boldly combines catchy slogans on T-shirts with printed fabrics with a pattern in the style of Khokhloma or Gzhel, natural and artificial fur, leather, metal fittings. As accessories, caps with earflaps and other things in emphasized Russian style are used. Collections turn out to be bright and memorable, fashion boutiques are willing to buy them, the style “from Simachev” is also popular with customers, regardless of gender and age. Colleagues of designers treat this style ambiguously, believing that Denis is not so much creating fashion as he is engaged in an actual mix. By the way, prices for designer clothes are not at all affordable, the main target audience is the so-called "golden youth".
Simachev does not pay attention to the opinion of critics. For some time now he has been engaged not only in clothes, creating stylish and original bedding. The principle is the same: provocative slogans, recognizable prints, unexpected color combinations. Such products are readily bought as gifts and souvenirs.
Denis is interested in other types of business. He owns a youth bar, another interesting direction that the designer devotes a lot of time to is the community of non-professional DJs.
