Indian vedism
Vedism is called an early form of Hinduism, whose main postulates were set forth in the holy books - the Vedas. However, academic science interprets the concept of "Vedism" too one-sidedly - as a pagan religion, which is characterized by the deification of the forces of nature, magical rites and sacrifices.
Meanwhile, the root of the Vedas, from which the words “Vedism” and “Vedas” come, carries the meaning of “know”, “knowledge”. In Russian, this root is found in the words "to know, " "witch, " "witch." Thus, the Vedas are a book of knowledge set forth in a specific, poetic and metaphorical language. Vedism is a holistic knowledge of the principles of harmonious functioning of the Universe, which was expressed in the idea of the interaction of cosmic forces. He talks about the relationship of man with cosmic power, the gods and spirits of their ancestors. Vedism tells people about how the world works and what place a person has in it. According to Vedic ideas, life is not only on Earth, but also on the planets of other stellar systems.
At the head of the Vedic pantheon were Varuna - the god of Heaven, Indra - the god of rain and thunder, Agni - the god of fire and Soma - the god of the moon and intoxicating drink.
