The word "demagogy" is very common with society, but its true meaning is not well known. From Greek, this word translates as "lead the people." In fact, this is an oratory, consisting of polemical techniques, which are aimed at misleading the audience in order to persuade it to their side. Often, demagogy is used in the advertising business, as well as in politics and propaganda.
2
Demagogy is the same lie, but due to the fact that deception is built on the basis of psychology, its result often becomes complete trust in the speaker. Demagogues can make the audience come to the right conclusions. The speaker is right, his words are truth. Even the most critical audience, under the influence of an experienced and talented broadcaster, becomes loyal and ready to believe in the most ridiculous arguments and facts.
3
The deliberate concealment of the negative aspects of a process also serves as a hallmark of demagogy. Thus, politicians often hold back certain problems in a particular area, parading only successes. Or the speaker speaks of problems in a certain direction, but is silent that this decline occurred due to his policy.
4
Often during press conferences, the politician-demagogue does not answer at all the question that was asked. Sometimes such a strategy is also applied: the guest speaks for a long time, difficultly, cites various situations as an example and tests the patience of the audience until he is interrupted. The audience in this case usually forgets what was discussed, and new questions are asked. Another hallmark of demagoguery is the recognition of minor errors and further repentance. However, the demagogue politician refuses to recognize larger mistakes and ask for forgiveness for them.
5
Often skillful demagogues mix lies with truth. This requires special abilities, as it is easy to get confused when answering related questions. Sometimes demagoguery takes on aggressive forms, when such tricks as assault, insults, false accusations and anything else are used to avoid direct answers to the questions posed.
6
Thus, one can recognize demagogy in politics by the excessive emotionality of speech, the recognition of minor errors and, at first glance, sincere repentance. Too long and filled with feelings of speech make an impression on the audience more than dry facts. Therefore, demagoguery will be used until people learn to distinguish between truth and the desire to be misled.
