The cult works of the English writer John Tolkien put on a pedestal the film trilogy "The Lord of the Rings", as well as a continuation of the adventures of Bilbo Beggins. The story of the little hobbit and his big heart conquered not only little England, but the whole world.

John Ronald Tolkien is one of the great writers of the twentieth century, a professor of the Anglo-Saxon language, an apologist for the fantasy genre, a man who gave the world a huge universe of Middle-earth. Behind this Englishman lies an epoch-making work, which he expounded in such works as The Hobbit, or There and Back, The Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion and many others. Do not count his awards, it is impossible to overestimate his merits, as well as the cult influence on many generations.
The first adaptations of Tolkien's works
For the first time, the idea of adapting the Bilbo hobbit tale was made into an animated cartoon in 1976 by Arthur Rankin and Jules Bassem. The cartoon did not receive the highest marks from critics, but the audience accepted this work quite cordially. Three years later, the continuation of the cartoon came out. It is worth noting that the idea of an adaptation of Tolkien's works was picked up by The Beatles, but the writer was shocked by this idea.
