The advent of television had a strong influence on the daily life of many people, the influence of information on a person and the need for it increased. Entire generations owe a part of life experience and a formed worldview to television.
Since its inception, television has managed to gain a foothold in every home, continuing to develop in various formats. However, in each country this happens differently. The most significant differences can be observed when comparing Western and domestic TV.
The fight against violence and mentality
According to statistics, in Russia TV is watched 2 times more often than in the west. However, this is not at all an indicator that the level of quality of the provided content is much higher. Rather, it is the disposition of the mentality and lifestyle that determine such data.
Such a massive and high-tech invention as television, it would seem, should have led to an uplift of morality along with the social cohesion of society. In fact, everything turned out to be completely different. Not so long ago, in a free and liberated country of the USA, there were a lot of human rights activists, and, of course, officials who took care of morality as part of their political program. However, today we can observe a significant weakening of the forces that are fighting for morality on Western television.
A few decades ago, there were numerous bans on the United States for abundant demonstrations of sex and violence on TV.
