Biography
Childhood
Boris Stepanovich Ryabinin was born in the Ural city of Kungur on November 3, 1911. His father worked as a surveyor. Grandfather was a well-known shoemaker throughout the city, he spent all his time working, showing little Boris an example of hard work. Mother and grandmother fussed around the house, raised flowers, looked after animals, which were many in the house.
The father often took his son to the village, where there was also a small farm. It was here that the boy had a reverent love for nature, a careful attitude to all living things. Several dogs, cats, a goat, a cow, a horse lived in the house, which everyone in the family loved, without exception. But especially grandfather favored the smaller brothers, he often told the boy about their habits. Animals were constant participants in all childish games, which was subsequently reflected in the first stories of Boris.
The beginning of creativity
Boris was not going to become a writer, nevertheless he was fond of drawing and writing, setting forth his impressions and views on paper. At the age of 13, having put all his notes together, he published a family magazine, in which there were poems and stories. The magazine was called Golden Childhood and was colorfully illustrated by the author himself.
Education
At the request of his parents, Boris graduated from the Perm Land Management College. Soon the family moved to Sverdlovsk, and the young man decided to enter the Ural Institute of Mechanical Engineering, graduated in absentia and acquired another profession - a mechanical engineer.
Career
Ryabinin worked for several years as a surveyor, and headed the survey party in construction and land reclamation sites. He participated in the distribution of land to the Ural collective farms, made topographic surveys of coal basins, calculated the area under Uralhimmash. Passed student practice at Uralmashzavod.
Boris often had to travel around the country in connection with his work, and he tirelessly wrote down all his impressions and took photographs. This hobby dramatically changed the fate of Ryabinin, and soon he became a photojournalist of the Ural newspaper Izvestia. The first essays of the writer were published in Izvestia and in the journal Ural Pathfinder.
Good books
The first book of Boris Ryabinin, released in 1936, was called "Stone Riddles. " After the publication of the second book, "My Friends, " the writer became very popular not only in Russia but also abroad.
Since childhood, Boris Stepanovich loved animals, and especially dogs, but at some point in his life he was seriously interested in zoology, in particular cynology, and later he called himself a zoologist. The writer understood in childhood under the influence of the family way of life that animals are an integral part of human life and must be treated with care and understanding. In the book "My Friends, " he wrote about his dogs - the great mastiff of Jerry and the Airedale Snooky. The book is so interesting that it is impossible for it to come off. She instantly found a lively response in millions of children's hearts. Letters from everywhere flew to Boris Stepanovich, in which children wrote about their love for four-legged pets, asked questions. The book can serve as a guide for dog handlers for beginner breeders.

The theme of nature conservation, love of animals became the main one in the works of Boris Ryabinin. In his books, essays, articles, speeches on television, he called: "People, be kind! But good must be with your fists. Help the weak - you will become strong!"
Ryabinin himself was a real fighter for the protection of nature, devoting to this business the rest of his life. His works are not only informative, but also educational. Personal life
The Ryabinin family was very friendly. Together with his wife Leokadia Semenovna - a true friend and first assistant, they raised two beautiful sons.
Boris Stepanovich Ryabinin died in 1990. His widow, children and grandchildren currently live in Yekaterinburg. And, of course, their favorite dogs live with them.
