Road to destination
The future cosmonaut was born in 1937 in Moscow. A child born on November 26 was named in honor of the father. He howled is known in the capital as an illustrious surgeon. An oculist, one of the founders of Russian ophthalmology, was Boris’s mother. She died when her son turned fourteen.

Scientific activity and space flight
In 1963, the flight of the multi-seat ship Voskhod was planned. The crew consisted of three specialists: a scientist, a doctor and an astronaut. Prior to this, only single ships were sent, then it was necessary to solve the problem of placing people. Part of the equipment was removed, and suits were also disposed of.
Pilots scored without difficulty. More difficult was the choice of scientists and doctors. Among them were few physically healthy candidates. Since 1964, Yegorov also took part in the preparation.
He had a distinct advantage over other candidates. He was already the author of a dozen scientific papers, completed his dissertation and was preparing to defend his doctorate. An additional plus was the young age and the absence of health problems with the exception of vision.
October 12, 1964 flight took place. This day the doctor and scientist considered a turning point in his biography. The expedition lasted a day. The crew successfully completed all the tasks, and all medical experiments were carried out.
Egorov received the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. He did not visit space anymore, devoting his life to researching the problems of medical biology. In 1967, Egorov defended his doctoral dissertation. In 1984, he founded the Biomedical Technology Research Institute.
Personal life
Outwardly looking like a movie hero, a charming man was incredibly popular. His personal life has always been in the spotlight. The first marriage he concluded with his classmate Eleanor Mordvinkina. A son appeared in the family named Boris. However, the marriage quickly broke up. Subsequently, the son of an outstanding figure became a businessman.

In the family in 1969 a child was born, daughter Natasha. Natalya Borisovna studied languages. In 1971, relations were complicated. The husband and wife decided to leave.
Ex-spouse began an affair with Natalia Kustinskaya. Together with the actress, he lived for two decades. The astronaut adopted the son of Kustinsky from Dmitry’s previous marriage. Subsequently, he graduated from MGIMO. The couple divorced in 1991. They attributed to Yegorov an affair with the presenter Valentina Leontieva, but the facts were not confirmed.
The astronaut again married almost immediately after breaking up with the ex-wife. His chosen one Tatyana Vuraki is a dentist. Together with her, Yegorov lived until he passed away.
