From the biography of Boris Oskarovich Burda
The future famous member of the club “What? Where? When?”, A bard and a popular TV presenter was born in Odessa on March 25, 1950. Boris’s mother was a pediatrician, and his father served in the army as an officer. At an early age, Burda and his family traveled a lot around the country. For some time the family lived in Baku, then Boris was again in his native city.
The future intellectual successfully graduated from one of Odessa's secondary schools. He always studied excellently; subjects were given to him without difficulty. Burda learned to read at the age of four.
When it was time to decide on a future profession, Boris chose the Odessa Polytechnic. He studied at the thermal power faculty. University Burda graduated with honors.
Already in his student years, Boris began to appear on television: he played for the Odessa KVN team. For several years, the team where Burda played, twice became the winner.

After graduating from high school, Burda worked as an engineer in the field of heat energy for some time. From public activities at that time he departed. The situation changed in 1990, when Boris successfully passed the selection for participation in the games of the intellectual casino "What? Where? When?". Most spectators know Boris precisely as a "connoisseur." Indeed, over two decades of activity at the club, Burda has achieved impressive success. Three times he became the owner of the Crystal Owl. In 2007, he won the main prize of the casino - "Diamond Owl".
No less successful was Boris’s career in the project “His game” (he has been performing here since 1995). The success of the intellectual attracted the attention of Ukrainian producers. In 1997, Burda became the author and host of the culinary show "Tasty with Boris Burda". Boris Oskarovich himself admitted that he learned how to cook well in marriage with his first wife: she could not stand the very view of the kitchen and everything related to cooking.
Success in the culinary program pushed her leading to the creation of a series of books devoted to this subject. To date, nine books on culinary art have come out of Boris’s pen.
One of Boris Oskarovich’s hobbies is music. He plays the guitar superbly and sings well. Burda has repeatedly participated in bard rallies and festivals.
