Biography
Irina Allegrova was born in 1952 in Rostov-on-Don and is of Russian-Armenian origin. The mother of the future singer Serafima Sosnovskaya was famous for her beautiful opera voice, and father Alexander Allegrov was a famous theater actor and director. Over time, the creative family moved to Baku, where Irina studied at the music and ballet school. She often became a participant in urban art contests and festivals, taking prizes. And thanks to the acquaintances of the parents, the future "Empress" drew vocal skills from Muslim Magomayev himself.
In 1969, not rushing to get a higher education, Irina Allegrova began performing in various groups, participating in tours around the country. In 1975, she attempted to enroll in the capital in GITIS, but she was refused admission. Then Irina continued to give concerts, until in the early 80s she met the composer Igor Krutoy. He, in turn, introduced her to musicians Vladimir Dubovitsky and Oscar Feltsman.
Feltsman praised the young singer’s abilities and wrote her the song “Voice of the Child”, which glorified Allegrova throughout the country. After that, Irina entered the ensemble "Fires of Moscow". She also participated in the tour of the rock group "Electroclub". The collective gave many performances, because of which once Irina severely tore her vocal chords. The defect in the form of a hoarse voice was incorrigible, but the singer decided to make it her highlight and began a solo career.
In 1990, Irina Allegrova introduced the public to the song "Wanderer", written for her by Igor Nikolaev. From that moment, the singer’s work “went” to the people, and everyone began to hum him. The compositions “Photography”, “Hello, Andrei”, “My Bridegroom”, “Wedding Flowers” and others that came out later are still well remembered and performed. A long concert tour under the general name "Empress" began. Subsequently, the nickname was firmly entrenched in the singer. In 2011, Allegrova announced her departure from the scene, but in 2015 decided to return, introducing a new concert program, "Reloading".
