Starting conditions
Long-term practice testifies that playing sports forms a person’s determination and willpower. In everyday life, these properties are called a sports character, which helps to overcome various obstacles that arise on the path of life. Anna Igorevna Kharitonova was born on March 12, 1985 in an ordinary Soviet family. My father worked in a trucking company. Mother worked as a nanny in kindergarten. A brother who was only a year older was already growing up in the house. Naturally, the sister and brother grew up together.
At school, Anya studied well. She was equally easily given the exact sciences and the humanities. Kharitonova's favorite subjects were history, literature, and physical education. In the third grade, the girl enrolled in the judo and sambo section. It was from this moment that her ascent to the heights of fame and success began. The girl faced a serious task. It was necessary to combine study with training. Anna from an early age was distinguished by a serious approach to all matters and assignments. You can’t skip workouts. Receive mediocre grades at school too. She did not have free time for aimless walks in the streets.

In 2000, Anna performed at the All-Russian Judo Tournament among schoolchildren and won first place. She was included in the national team. Anna's sports career has developed quite successfully. In 2007, she won a gold medal at the European Judo Championships, and secured a place in the country's Olympic team. However, at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, she performed unsuccessfully. Kharitonov experienced her defeat very hard. At certain points, she wanted to quit the sport, and leave for a remote village. The athlete was able to cope with depression and return to the training process. Started to engage only in sambo wrestling. Already in 2010, she won first place in the women's world championship.
