Andrei Ropcha is a musician from Romania, one of the founders of the Morandi band with Marius Mogoy. The band's highest popularity was in 2007-2011, however, today, from time to time, musicians delight fans with new compositions.
Early biography
Andrey Stefan Ropcha was born in 1983 in the Romanian city of Pitesti. It is known that he studied music at a specialized Lyceum of Arts Dinu Lipatti, having perfectly mastered the piano. Soon after receiving his education in 2004, the aspiring musician moved to Bucharest, where he met like-minded Marius Mogoy. Together they created a small recording studio and for some time experimented with music, producing compositions for private clients.
Soon, Andrei and Marius decided that the time had come to record their own work. They called their tandem Morandi, using the cunning interweaving of letters from their names. It is interesting that in the 60s the Italian singer, whose name was Gianni Morandi, was very popular in the world, but it is not known whether this was also reflected in the name of the band. As a musical direction, a lyrical pop with electronic elements was chosen, and in 2004 the group recorded the first single, Love Me. The musicians distributed the CD to nightclubs, and the song was incredibly successful.
Creativity as part of Morandi
In 2005, the official release of the single Love Me took place, which grabbed charts not only in Romania, but also in Greece, Bulgaria and other countries. At this point, the group was already actively recording a debut album called Reverse, the release of which was not long in coming. Soon, Morandi songs were sung by fans around the world, and they constantly hit the tops of the music charts. It is worth noting that the group included five more musicians, however, it was Andrei and Marius who remained public figures.
The artists were not going to stop there and worked almost without rest. Already in 2006, the second album Mindfields was released, which was remembered by the singles Falling Asleep and A La Lujeba and continued to bring the group wide fame. It is still unclear where the musicians got their inspiration from, since again a year later the new album N3XT, which is considered the best in the career of Morandi, was released.
The first single Angels blew up charts around the world and for a long time did not leave their top lines. The second single Save Me in tandem with singer Helena was released in 2008 and became the anthem of nightclubs, including in Russia. The colorful Morandi video clips, which perfectly complemented their sonorous compositions, were actively discussed. Soon the third single from the album Colors was released. From that moment, Andrey and Marius were constantly on the world tour and for some time did not create new compositions, deciding to release a collection of their best hits in 2011.
The fate of the group
At intervals of approximately one year, Morandi releases new compositions, delighting his fan community. The tracks Everytime We Touch, Summer In December and Keep You Safe, released from 2013 to 2016, were highly appreciated by music critics and ordinary listeners, and also got clips that the team publishes on their YouTube channel.
Andrei and Marius warmly relate to Russia and Russian listeners. They took part in the recording of the documentary show “The Euro Course” on Match TV, one of the issues of which was dedicated to the band’s hometown - Bucharest, and shared the details of the recording of a special single dedicated to the World Cup in Russia, held in 2018 year. So the groovy song Kalinka was born, dedicated to Russian fans and a great sports festival.
