Childhood, youth
Alexey Mikhailovich was born in Vladimir. The family was creative, parents worked at the Moscow Art Theater. In the 30s they divorced, the second husband of Alexei's mother was Viktor Ardov, writer. He was good to the stepson. Famous people often visited the family.
In 1941, Alexei and his mother were evacuated to Tatarstan. In 1944, he first starred in the film, he was given a role in the film "Zoya". After the war, they returned to the capital as a mother. Alexey graduated from school, began to study at the Moscow Art Theater.
Creative career
Batalov received his specialty in 1950, then began to work in the theater of the Soviet Army. Later, he got a role in the film "Big Family". Alexey collaborated with the director Heifits for many years: the films “The Rumyantsev Case”, “Lady with a Dog”, etc.
In 1957, Batalov starred in the movie "Cranes Are Flying", which became famous. In the future, the actor had many different works. In the 60s, Batalov became interested in directing, he made 3 films: "Overcoat", "Player", "Three Fat Men". In the latter, the actor played the role of a tightrope walker.
Alexei Mikhailovich was also involved in radio shows, dubbing cartoons. Since 1975, Batalov began teaching at VGIK, in 1980 he became a professor. He was very responsible for the work.
True popularity came to Alexei Mikhailovich in 1979 after the release of the movie "Moscow Doesn't Believe in Tears", which was awarded the Oscar. This work was the last in Batalov's acting career. Later he continued to teach, also voiced cartoons. Batalov also became the author of several books ("Destiny and Craft", "Dialogues in the Intermission").
