Biography
Alexey Fedorovich Krychenkov was born on February 23, 1942 in the small Ural town Verkhnyaya Salda, Sverdlovsk Region.
In childhood, the boy loved to sing and dance. In his school years, he studied in drama circles and enthusiastically played in theatrical productions at his school.
At the end of school, the young man decided to become an actor. He went to Moscow to enter GITIS (A.V. Lunacharsky State Institute of Theatrical Art).
In 1962, Alexei Krychenkov became a student in the acting department of GITIS. He studied in the workshop, the teachers of which were Professor Boris Vladimirovich Bibikov and his wife Olga Ivanovna Pyzhova. Being a student of these teachers was considered great luck, because Boris Bibikov studied with Stanislavsky himself, and Olga Pyzhova was the first Soviet actress to receive the title of professor of the acting department.
In 1964, Alexey Krychenkov was drafted into the Armed Forces, where he served in the military. After serving only one year, the young man was seconded to the theater of the Soviet Army (now the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army) for further service as an artist.
Alex successfully combined work in the theater with studies at the correspondence department in GITIS.
In 1967, he was officially accepted into the troupe of the theater of the Soviet Army. He remained faithful to this theater all his life.
In 1961, the feature film "Girls" was released on the screens of the country and popularity came to Alexei Krychenkov. The youngest and most direct member of the lumberjack brigade Alyosha Velikanov, played by the actor, immediately fell in love with the audience. Then Krychenkov worked a lot in the cinema, starred in diverse roles.
In 1993, the actor received the title of Honored Artist of Russia.
In 2005, Alexei Fedorovich created a solo performance "What was not, is not, and never will be, but I really want to." The genre of the one-man show is noteworthy in that it imposes a special responsibility on the artist: he, in one person, is both an actor and the creator of the play.
In 2000, Alexei Krychenkov was admitted to the Russian Filmmakers Union.
Currently, the actor continues to serve in the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army, in which he is engaged in leading performances.
Role in the legendary film "Girls"
Alexey Krychenkov was 18 years old when the shooting of the film "Girls" began. The young actor managed to convincingly show the image of his character - lumberjack Alyosha Velikanov, who played in this film. Despite the supporting role, Krychenkov was immediately remembered by the audience for his sincerity and spontaneity. A short by nature guy with the last name Velikanov involuntarily evoked a smile from the audience.
Alexei Krychenkov was lucky to play in the Girls with famous and beloved actors - Nikolai Rybnikov and Nadezhda Rumyantseva. It was a great honor for the young artist to work on the same set with such venerable professionals. In addition, this was a good school for an actor who was just starting his career.
The brilliant play of the actors, an interesting plot, the exact transfer of images and spirit of that time brought the film a huge success. Alexey Krychenkov recalled that he had the brightest and fondest memories of the filming of this picture.
It so happened that the shooting of the film "Girls" took place in three places: at the Mosfilm film studio, at the Yalta film studio and in the Northern Urals, near the city of Bereznyaki.
The main frames of the film were shot in winter, in a thirty-degree frost in the Northern Urals. At Mosfilm, the scenery of the real village where the heroes of the film lived was built. Their viewers saw in Girls, they entered the picture. When the filming process came to an end, it turned out that there were no free sites on Mosfilm to shoot scenes in the male and female dormitories. It was decided to finish shooting the film at the Yalta film studio, where it was free.

A pavilion with artificial snow was built at the film studio. Everything was done very professionally, so that the audience in the film could not distinguish artificial snow from the real one. Actors in felt boots, quilted jackets and winter hats courageously played their roles.
The movie "Girls" entered the gold fund of Soviet cinema. Despite the fact that 58 years have passed since the picture was released, it is still loved by the audience.
