Alexey Kolosov was born in 1958, on November 8th. His parents were famous figures of cinema. Father is the famous film director Sergei Kolosov, and mother is a charming actress Lyudmila Kasatkina.
As a child, Alyosha began to engage in creativity. He drew well, became interested in music. However, trouble came to the family - Alexei became very ill and began to rapidly lose his sight. Parents sought medical advice and help from Moscow luminaries. However, the disease progressed, Alexey underwent surgery on his eyes, but failed to restore his vision. The young man had to learn to perceive the world by ear. He graduated from high school and went to study at the Moscow State University at the faculty of journalism. The further Aleksey comprehended university sciences, the more he wanted to do his favorite thing - music.
Study and creativity
Along with his studies at the university, Aleksey Kolosov decided to study in absentia at the famous Gnesins Music College. His choice fell on the comprehension of the art of playing the guitar. In 1980, graduating from the Faculty of Journalism, he continued to study at the music school, which he graduated in 1982.

Alex decided to try himself as a movie actor, starring in several episodic roles.. However, this career did not work. Alexei’s father, director Sergei Kolosov, gave him a try to compose music for his films, although in his previous film works the famous Alexei Rybnikov and Alfred Schnittke wrote music. In addition to composing musical compositions, Alexei Kolosov took part in the creative activities of musical groups and performed in their composition at festivals. The first performance as a jazz artist took place in 1985. It was a traditional jazz festival held within the walls of the Moskvorechye culture house. Alex tried himself as a leading jazz broadcast on the Yunost radio station. He acquaints listeners with the directions of this unique musical culture, known and unknown performers from Russia and Europe.
Successful creativity led to the emergence of the group "Aura". In 1992, Alexei Kolosov, saxophonist Lev Lebedev, pianist Dmitry Yakovlev, drummer Yevgeny Koseko, bassist Yevgeny Serkov created a wonderful professional team. Work on musical projects was very successful and the Aura group released several CDs.
The Big Sky competition, where Alexey Kolosov became the chairman of the jury, was first held in 2004. To date, this is one of the most prestigious jazz competitions, which gives the way to life for young performers. For his dedication to jazz and enlightenment work, Alexei Kolosov received a high award - the Golden Order "For the Serving of Art."
