Biography
The beginning of the summer of 1915 for a peasant family from a village on the outskirts of Russia was marked by the birth of the eldest son, Alyosha. Basically, the grandfather brought up the future writer, since his father decided to leave the family early. Alexei’s grandfather was a surprisingly educated person, he managed to get a good store of knowledge and was able to teach his grandson how to read and write. It was he who, from childhood, instilled in the future writer a love of creative and poetic activity.
The hunger years began, the usual single-parent family from the village became completely unbearable. Cherkasov's mother decided to transfer all her children, including Alexei, to an educational institution for the young Soviet generation. There it was decided to identify him in a higher educational institution, which he still did not have time to graduate, in the middle of training he was sent to collectivization.

In the mid-30s, Cherkasov was charged with a crime that he did not commit. He was sent to work on the construction of a river canal. Before the start of World War II, he was fully acquitted and received compensation. After some time, Alexei again lost his freedom.
Now he was already sentenced to death, but miraculously survived and spent many years in a psychiatric hospital, healing a non-existent disease. Upon arrival from there, his creative career began, which lasted almost until the end of Cherkasov’s life.

Creation
At the end of the 40s, the first meeting of Aleksey Timofeevich was published under the name "On the Siberian side." Then the world saw the work "For Life", which was embodied in a stage form in a local theater organization. Many of Cherkasov’s works were lost due to the hype during his unlawful arrests.
The main emphasis in the novels and legends of the writer was placed on realism. He always wanted to convey to the reader that in the real world there is a lot of evil, but with proper efforts, faith in good will never yield. Being a man who had served years of correctional labor, he could talk about the dark side of everyday life.
