Alexander G. Tikhanovich was born on July 13, 1952 in the city of Minsk, the Belarusian SSR. He studied at the Minsk Suvorov School, where from the second grade he began to study in a brass band in order to skip classes that he did not like so much. Soon, Alexander was pleased with this occupation, and he no longer parted with a wind instrument.
After college, he graduated from the Belarus Conservatory, department - a pipe.
After serving in the army (1971-1973), the young musician created the Minsk group, which played in the style of jazz rock, where he worked for about a year. This trend in music at that time was irrelevant, and the group broke up.
In 1973, Alexander Tikhanovich fell in love with the young, talented and very beautiful artist Yadvig Poplavskaya, who was one of the creators of the Verasa vocal-instrumental ensemble.

Initially, it was exclusively a female team, led by composer Vasily Rainchik (a former member of the Minsk group), who decided to make VIA mixed. Therefore, he invited Alexander Grigorievich to play the guitar and trumpet, as well as perform vocal parts.
In 1979, the musician was lucky to perform on the same stage with the famous American singer Dean Reed. VIA accompanied a foreign star during a major tour of the USSR.
Career and personal life
Alexander and Jadwiga for a long time became the main performers of the popular team. The most famous songs of the ensemble over 15 years: "Robin", "I live with my grandmother", "White Snow" ("Zavirukha") and many others. Tours and rehearsals began to bring young people closer, and Poplavskaya drew attention to the guy in love.
In 1975, the couple signed and created a new unit in Soviet society. In the Central Wedding Palace, Jadwiga doubted the correctness of the decision to marry, but thinking that she would always have time to divorce, she gave her consent to the marriage. The life of the newlyweds began with difficulties. The young wife managed to cook the first dishes in the sink, and fried meat on the iron.
Blows of fate
In 1986, Tikhanovich was decided to be removed from the ensemble, but in Soviet times it was impossible to just dismiss an artist from work without good reason. During a tour of Central Asia, Alexander Tikhanovich put a package of marijuana in the pocket of concert trousers. They called the police, the search began. By a fluke, Tikhanovich put on another concert costume, which saved him from prison, but not from shame. All the newspapers were full of headlines stating that Alexander Grigoryevich was involved in the drug trade and would be convicted to the full extent of the law.
On October 8, 1986, the artist was arrested right on the street and locked in a pre-trial detention cell for three days. Then there was a court, Alexander was acquitted and restored to his former place of work.
The artist decided to leave VIA, and after him the devoted wife Poplavskaya also left. In 1987, they received an offer to work in the State Orchestra of Belarus under the direction of Finberg Mikhail Yakovlevich, where they were expected to be backing vocalists.
In 1988, the couple decided to take part in the "Song 88" contest with their song "Lucky Case" to verses by Larisa Rubalskaya. Young artists made a splash on the stage and became winners.
All-Union fame
Soon, a duet with the exact same name was created, later it turned into a group where Tikhanovich became the main vocalist and part-time guitarist. The group became so popular and in demand that they began to invite it with performances all over the former USSR, as well as abroad - to Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, France, Germany, Canada, Finland and Israel.
In the same year, the artists created the "Song Theater Yadvigi Poplavskaya and Alexander Tikhanovich", which was later renamed the production center. During this time, then-unknown young artists of Belarus, such as Alexander Solodukha, Nikita Fominykh, rock musician Sergei Mikhalok and his group “Lyapis Trubetskoy, ” passed through it.
In 1980, a young miracle was born to a young family, which they called Anastasia. From an early age, the girl showed acting talent, she was independent and could not imagine herself without a scene. At a later age, Anastasia achieved popularity and recognition, like her famous parents.
The girl heads the "Production Center of Yadvigi Poplavskaya and Alexander Tikhonovich", also writes down her songs along the way, makes videos and participates in various music projects. She brings up the son of Ivan, in which the young grandfather saw the continuation of the famous Tikhanovich family.
In 1991, the couple received the title of Honored Artists of the Republic of Belarus, and in 2005 they were awarded the title of People's Artists of Belarus.
From 2006 to 2009, Alexander G. Tihanovich headed the EuroFest television music project, which was the national qualifying round for Eurovision. In 2007, Tikhanovich, in a team with Philip Kirkorov, was the creative mastermind of Dmitry Koldun as a representative from Belarus at a popular international competition.
The actor was interested not only in music, but also in cinema. Alexander G. starred in six films, and in 2009 played the main role in the film "Apple of the Moon", which the famous director Alexei Turovich shot according to the script of George Marchuk.
In early childhood, Alexander Georgievich was brought up by an elderly nanny, who very much believed in God. Thanks to her, little Sasha learned the Bible and began to attend the temple. So the artist became one of the singers in the Alexander Nevsky Temple at the Military Cemetery in Minsk.
In 2014, Tikhanovich, together with the famous singer Ruslan Alekhno, with whom they were friends for about two decades, made a pilgrimage trip to Mount Athos.
