Starting conditions
In a certain chronological period, many experts believed that photography would replace paintings created by artists. This did not happen, but another genre of fine art appeared - art photography. Alexander Iosifovich Lapin regarded the process of creating images not as a hobby or hobby. He devoted his entire conscious life to the study of this technology as a tool for the search for excellence in nature and in the human environment. About how you can achieve this perfection, Lapin spoke in his lectures and books.
The future photographer and teacher was born on May 17, 1945 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents lived in Moscow. Father was at the front. Mother worked as an operator in the central telegraph. Little Sasha, mom and grandmother crowded in a small room in a communal apartment. In the next room, the head of the family had a captured German camera. On weekends, he curtained the window with black cloth and printed photographs. For Alexander, these procedures seemed to be magic. Awakened children's interest determined the direction of his life path.

Professional activity
Like many photo artists, Lapin received no special education. In childhood, he grew up a sickly child. After school I entered the Physics and Technology Institute, but after the first year I dropped out. He managed to earn money and buy a simple camera. To earn a living, Alexander offered his services to various enterprises. He designed various stands and galleries of production leaders. At the same time, he regularly shot landscapes and people around him. He exhibited his works at various exhibitions.
Alexander Iosifovich lectured for free on the basics of composition at the Correspondence People’s University of Arts. In 1985, Lapin organized the "Studio of Art Photography", which operated for several years at the House of Culture of Moscow State University. Creativity of the photographer was evaluated differently. In the media there were both positive reviews and sharply negative reviews about the subject photographs. Based on many years of practice, Lapin wrote his first book, entitled "Photography as
.", which was released in 2003.
