Biography and filmography of Mikhail Kozakov
The future famous actor and director was born in Leningrad in a cultural family closely connected with literature (father Mikhail Emanuilovich Kozakov - writer, mother Zoya Aleksandrovna Gatskevich - editor). Jewish and Greek-Serbian blood flowed in the veins of our hero, which affected his appearance and mentality.
After the end of World War II, Mikhail Kozakov returned to Leningrad from the Krasnokamsk region and entered a choreographic school, after which he left for Moscow and continued his education at the Moscow Art Theater School. In his student years, his film career began. His successful debut in the film "Murder on Dante Street" occurred in conjunction with other future movie stars: Innokenty Smoktunovsky and Valentin Gaft. And then there was a series of film works that brought him real fame.
After the legendary film "Amphibian Man" was released in 1961, where our hero got the role of Zurit, he became a real idol to millions of Soviet moviegoers. However, his workload in theatrical life exceeds cinematic. After university, Mikhail worked for three years at Mayakovka, then transferred to Sovremennik for fifteen years, and in 1971 he was detained at the Moscow Art Theater for a year and entered the service at the Malaya Bronnaya Theater.
In the "seventies" Kozakov will make his debut in directing. Since filming the movie “Night of Errors” in 1975, the list of his film projects is growing. The paintings “Nameless Star”, “Pokrovsky Gates”, “Lady’s Visit”, “According to Lopotukhin”, “Masquerade” made Mikhail Mikhailovich's name so famous that he entered the Soviet directorial elite.
From 1992 to 1996, Kozakov spent in exile in Israel. But, despite the active creative work in a foreign land, the soul could not stand the Western mentality, and he was forced to return to his homeland. Upon his return, he immediately created the "Russian Entrepreneur Mikhail Kozakov." In the "zero" our hero is actively shooting and acting. Of particular interest are his picture "Copper Grandmother" and the mini-series "Charm of Evil", detailing the state of Russian emigration.
In 2010, M. M. Kozakova was diagnosed with lung cancer at a late stage of the disease, after which he was operated on in an Israeli clinic, but this only delayed the death of a great man. April 22, 2011, the death claimed the idol of millions of Russian connoisseurs of theater and cinema.
