Biography
The future musician was born in June 1960 on the twenty-seventh in the German town of Arnsberg. From early childhood, the boy was seriously attracted to music. He loved to listen to various artists, but he especially liked hard rock and heavy metal bands. Axel learned to play the guitar during his studies and even performed for some time at school events. After graduation, the aspiring musician did not plan to go anywhere and firmly decided to connect his life with heavy music.
Music career
Rudi Pell got his first serious experience when he was 21 years old. He joined the newly created rock band Steeler, in which he took the place of the guitarist. The group performed heavy music and for a long time was canonical, but in the mid-80s some members of the collective considered that the material they performed was not popular enough and there was a need to “soften” the music and switch to simpler genres. A serious conflict was brewing in Stiller, which became stronger over time and ultimately led to Axel’s withdrawal from the group. After recording the album in 1986, he left the band, as he was sharply against the commercialization of music.

For several years, Rudy Pell did not actually make music. Only in 1989 did he decide to establish his own team, which continued to bear the heavy burden of heavy metal. Axel was far from the last figure in the German hard rock party, and when he announced that he was planning to create his own group, the musicians already known by that time responded to his cry. The first line-up included vocalist Charlie Khan, drummer Michael Jörg, Volker Kravchak and Dizinger Jörg. The team was called Axel Rudi Pell.
The album debuted in 1989. After a long work in the studio, the album Wild Obsession saw the light. Two years later, the band released a second collection of their songs. The group quickly overgrown with fans, largely due to the well-known composition, and their popularity gradually began to go beyond Germany.

In 1992, a new vocalist, Jeff Scott Soto, joined the group, which brought new notes to the sound of the group. The style of the band's performance somehow became softer over time, and the overhanging “heavy metal” over the years moved into the background. Increasingly, Axels record romantic ballads, as well as songs in other styles. But despite all the difficulties and obstacles, the Axel Rudi Pell group has survived to this day. The last record was released in 2018. Due to age, the group reduces the size of their tours, but does not completely abandon them and continues to give concerts.
